CCAGW PAC Congratulates Winning Candidates

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) today congratulated the PAC-endorsed candidates for the House of Representatives and the Senate who won their elections.  So far, with some races undecided, 83 out of 90 the PAC’s endorsed candidates, or 92 percent, were victorious, as the Republican Party maintained control of both chambers of Congress.

In the last two weeks leading up to the election, CCAGW PAC initiated a strong get out the vote effort in eight key Senate races that held the balance of power for Republicans – Arizona, Florida, Indiana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.  Incumbent Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Richard Burr (R-N.C.), Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) were re-elected, and Rep. Todd Young (R-Ind.) is the senator-elect from his state, holding on to a Republican seat.

All of the candidates endorsed by CCAGW PAC have shown a steadfast commitment to fiscal conservatism. The incumbents endorsed by CCAGW PAC possessed a minimum lifetime CCAGW Congressional Rating of at least 80 percent, earning them the title of “Taxpayer Hero.”  Endorsed challengers and candidates in open races provided appropriate answers to the CCAGW PAC questionnaire.

CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz said:  “The 2016 elections results ensure that the Republican Party will have full control of the presidency and both chambers of Congress for the first time in a decade.  With this tremendous opportunity, the presence of dedicated fiscal hawks is pivotal.  Taxpayers can rest assured that they have many allies in Congress who are committed to eliminating government waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement.  We look forward to working with President-elect Donald Trump along with new and current senators and representatives in order to make the federal government less wasteful and intrusive, which will lead to a more prosperous nation.”

CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization.  CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
