CCAGW PAC Endorses California Candidates

Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) announced its endorsement of six California candidates:  Reps. Steve Knight (R-Calif.), Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.), Tom McClintock (R-Calif.), Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), and Ed Royce (R-Calif.) for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, and candidate Paul Chabot for election to the House from California’s 31st Congressional District.

CCAGW PAC based its endorsements on each candidate’s lifetime score as listed in CCAGW’s 2015 Congressional Ratings.

The lifetime ratings of the six representatives are as follows: Rep. Knight, 80 percent; Rep. LaMalfa, 90 percent; Rep. McClintock, 99 percent; Rep. Rohrabacher, 92 percent; and Rep. Royce, 94 percent.  Rep. McClintock’s 99 percent lifetime rating is the highest of any member of Congress who has been in office more than one term.

Navy Lieutenant Commander Paul Chabot is challenging Democratic Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.).  CCAGW PAC based its endorsement of LtCdr. Chabot on his answers to the CCAGW PAC 2016 Candidate Questionnaire, which were consistent with the organization’s principles and in harmony with CCAGW PAC’s support for fiscal restraint and opposition to costly government mandates and regulations.  The candidate questionnaire can be found online at www.ccagwpac.org/questionnaire.  Rep. Aguilar holds a dismal lifetime rating of just 6 percent.

“During their tenures in the House, these six members of Congress have served the citizens of California with great distinction,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz. “On top of their prestigious voting records, they worked with their colleagues to restrain the growth of federal spending and to help make government more accountable and transparent to taxpayers.”

“Their abiding commitment to fiscal conservatism is one of the many reasons that I urge Californians to vote for Reps. Knight, LaMalfa, McClintock, Rohrabacher, and Royce on November 8 so that they can continue to hold the line on Washington’s big-spending agenda, and for LtCdr. Chabot so that he may join these distinguished public servants in the fight to restore accountability and fiscal discipline to the nation’s capital,” concluded Schatz.

CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization.  CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
