CCAGW PAC Endorses Sen. John Cornyn and 12 Texas House Candidates

Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) announced its endorsement for Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) for re-election to the Senate, and Reps. Jodey Arrington (R-Texas), Brian Babin (R-Texas), Kevin Brady (R-Texas), Michael Burgess (R-Texas), Michael Cloud (R-Texas), Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), Lance Gooden (R-Texas), Chip Roy (R-Texas), Van Taylor (R-Texas), Randy Weber (R-Texas), Roger Williams (R-Texas), and Ron Wright (R-Texas) for re-election to the House of Representatives.

CCAGW PAC based its endorsements on the candidates’ lifetime score in CCAGW’s 2019 Congressional Ratings.

Sen. Cornyn is a lifetime “Taxpayer Hero” with a lifetime rating of 87 percent.  Rep. Gooden earned a “Taxpayer Super Hero” award with a perfect 100 percent rating based on his first year in Congress.  The other 10 candidates have exemplary lifetime ratings that have made them a lifetime “Taxpayer Hero.”  Reps. Roy and Wright both have a lifetime rating of 99 percent and Rep. Taylor has a lifetime rating of 98 percent based on their first year in Congress.  Rep. Cloud has a lifetime rating of 98 percent.  Reps. Arrington, Babin, and Williams have a lifetime rating of 94 percent, and Rep. Williams earned a “Taxpayer Super Hero” award in 2019 with a perfect 100 percent rating.  Rep. Weber has a lifetime rating of 92 percent.  Rep. Gohmert has a lifetime rating of 88 percent.  Rep. Burgess has a lifetime rating of 87 percent, and Rep. Brady has a lifetime rating of 83 percent.

“During their tenures in the House and Senate, Reps. Arrington, Babin, Brady, Burgess, Cloud, Gohmert, Gooden, Roy, Taylor, Weber, Williams, and Wright and Sen. Cornyn have been strong and reliable votes to curb government waste and reform Washington,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz.  “On top of their impressive voting records, they worked with their colleagues to enact and retain historic tax cuts, support deregulation, and help ignite America’s economic boom.  I urge Texans to re-elect them to Congress.”
