Voters Choose Competence and Fiscal Responsibility over the Status Quo

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) today congratulated the 50 PAC-endorsed congressional and gubernatorial candidates who won their elections. With 53 races decided to date, this 94.3 percent success rate is the best in the history of the CCAGW PAC. So far, with several races undecided, Republicans have added 12 seats to their majority in the House of Representatives, giving them a total of at least 246 seats, which is their largest majority since the election of 1928. In the Senate, Republicans have added seven seats to date, giving them a total of 52 seats, with two races undecided and one heading to a runoff.

In January, CCAGW PAC’s extensive efforts to “fire Harry Reid” will take full effect when Republican Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is elected Majority Leader. The CCAGW PAC is particularly proud of its endorsement of Senators-elect Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), whose victories were instrumental in creating this change in Senate leadership. All of the candidates endorsed by CCAGW PAC have shown an abiding commitment to fiscal conservatism by acting as principled advocates for lower taxes and smaller government. Incumbents endorsed by CCAGW PAC possessed a minimum lifetime CCAGW Congressional Rating of at least 80 percent, earning the title of “Taxpayer Hero.” Endorsed challengers agreed with all of the positions included in the CCAGW PAC questionnaire.

“The ascension of such a large number of fiscally conservative candidates demonstrates that voters are fed up with the incompetent leadership of President Obama and soon-to-be Minority Leader Harry Reid,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz. “Taxpayers can be assured that they have many more allies in Congress who are committed to eliminating government waste, fraud, and abuse. We are pleased that tens of millions of voters joined with us to support true fiscal conservatives. We look forward to working with both new and current senators and representatives in order to create a more efficient and less intrusive government, which will lead to a more prosperous and optimistic America.”
