CCAGW PAC Endorses Arizona Candidates

Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) announced its endorsement of four Arizona candidates:  Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for re-election to the U.S. Senate; Reps. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) and Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives; and candidate Paul Babeu for election to the open seat in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District.

Sen. McCain has led the fight to end waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in the federal government for decades.  He scored an impressive 94 percent in the CCAGW 2015 Congressional Ratings, making him a “Taxpayer Hero.”  Sen. McCain has a lifetime rating of 90 percent, which is the highest of any senator who has been in office for more than seven years.

Rep. Schweikert and Rep. Franks have impressive lifetime ratings of 96 percent and 95 percent respectively, making them both “Taxpayer Heroes.”

CCAGW PAC based its endorsements of incumbents on a candidate’s lifetime score as listed in CCAGW’s 2015 Congressional Ratings.

Pinal County Sherriff Paul Babeu is running to fill the open seat in Arizona’s 1st congressional district.  CCAGW PAC based its endorsement on his answers to the 2016 Candidate Questionnaire, which were consistent with the organization’s principles and in harmony with CCAGW PAC’s support for fiscal restraint and opposition to costly government mandates and regulations.  The candidate questionnaire can be found online at www.ccagwpac.org/questionnaire.

“During their tenures in the Senate and House, these members of Congress served the citizens of Arizona with great distinction,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz. “On top of their prestigious voting records, they worked with their colleagues to restrain the growth of federal spending and to help make government more accountable and transparent to taxpayers.”

“Their abiding commitment to fiscal conservatism is one of the many reasons that I urge Arizonans to vote for them on November 8 so that Sen. McCain can maintain his leadership in the fight to end government waste, Reps. Schweikert and Franks can continue to hold the line on Washington’s big-spending agenda, and Sherriff Babeu may join these distinguished public servants to help restore fiscal discipline to the nation’s capital,” concluded Schatz.

CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization.  CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
