Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) endorsed John McCain for the U.S. Senate.

John McCain has led the fight to end waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in the federal government for decades.  He scored an impressive 94 percent in the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste’s (CCAGW) 2015 Congressional Ratings, making him a “Taxpayer Hero.”  Since he was elected, John McCain has a lifetime rating of 90 percent, which is the highest of any senator who has been in office for more than seven years. 

“I am honored to receive the support of the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste,” said John McCain. “I have spent my career fighting to eliminate government waste on behalf of the taxpayer. I look forward to championing additional reform efforts in the next Congress.”

“John McCain not only talks the talk, but walks the walk in the battle to safeguard taxpayer dollars,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz.  “All too often, members of Congress tout their waste-fighting commitment on the campaign trail, only to see that fervor fade the longer they remain in Washington.  John McCain has never wavered in vigorously leading the fight for accountability and transparency in government, sparing no agency or program, and even calling out his colleagues when necessary.  He spearheaded a tireless crusade against wasteful and corruptive earmarks, which led to the 2011 moratorium on the practice, and he continues to push for a permanent ban on earmarks.
